Yahoo is used because it has the most loyal group of searchers. MSN is used because it has the most monetizable traffic out of the three. I will translate, MSN searchers are more ready to buy than those in the other two engines with all things being the same. I have used all three in the past. However, I split it about 55/45 Google/Yahoo. I do not have any definitive numbers to give you on how effective. My goal is to stay in budget and judge if the traffic that I am getting is worth the cost.
