Over the past few years, affiliate marketing has gotten somewhat competitive. Literally thousands of jumped in with both feet, hoping to find their quick money maker. It just so happens however that very few marketers have figured out what needs to be done. By following these 7 tips, you’ll quickly find yourself in the top 1% of affiliate marketers who are actually making money.
Tip #1 - Test Multiple AffiliatesTo maximize your payout, it’s important to test multiple affiliates when it’s time to set up an affiliate campaign. Most people only test one affiliate, and that is part and parcel of the problem.
Try selling physical products as well as informational products. Try CPA offers as well as pay per sale offers. In short, test to see what gives you the highest return.
Tip #2 - Building Your ListIt’s been said again and again. The money is in the list.
If you don’t build a list, 99% or more of all your visitors will simply leave your page without buying. However, if you get 30% of them to sign up for your email list, you can continue to market to them until they buy.
Even if they don’t buy, you can sell them products from all kinds of other affiliates.
Tip #3 - Affiliate Mini SitesTrying to build the next super-sized site to market an overload of affiliate products may not be the best choice for you. This is where affiliate mini sites work quite well.
A mini site is just that, a smaller website used to increase conversions between your offer and your traffic. For example, you decide to buy a PPC ad, attempting to funnel it right to your affiliate link, but chances are it won’t convert.
However, if you forwarded the traffic over to just a one page website then over to the merchant’s page, often times it will convert.
Tip #4 - Expanding Traffic SourcesWith the web developing all the time, more traffic sources are going to surface. As an example, many affiliate marketers are still only using the PPC side of things. Others are making millions by incorporating social network sites, such as Facebook to their marketing plan.
This is where you need creativity. Keep learning about and trying new traffic sources.
Tip #5 - Payouts Aren’t First PriorityPayout actually isn’t the most important number. Conversions are important too, but it’s not the most important number either.
The most important number is your Earnings Per Click, or EPC. For example, if you make $20 for every 100 visitors you send over, then your EPC is $0.20.
Your EPC gauges just how your affiliates are working for you. If you have a high EPC you’re seeing just how much you’re making, while considering both conversions and payouts
Tip #6 - Continuity or High End ProductsConsider these two choices: Selling a product for $20, or putting your energy and time into a product selling for $2000. Is there one you would choose over the other?
You can be doing your affiliate work to get paid once, or work once a week at your sales with payments coming in resulting in paid many times. Honestly, which would you rather do?
You will see a bigger payoff if you look for items with continuity or high ticket items to promote. It will pay off in the end.
Tip #7 - Keep TestingDon’t become complacent. Top marketers have all made money on continually testing their products and offers.
Keep testing your ads, your landing pages, your offers, etc.
If you follow these seven tips, you’ll quickly find yourself among the top 1% of all affiliate marketers who make money
. Most marketers just don’t put in the work to really make money in this business
. If you do the work, you’ll take home the paycheck.
