I think you should buy a new one, if you can't choose laptop number 2, you only have to buy extra battery for it. As to OS, choose the one that is compatible with your system. You can buy a new one if you do not have the cd.

I need to make some decisions and I was hoping you guys could help, please note that my funds are not great rite now.
laptop or PC
I don't no which one to stick with, obviously I have used both, and I'm not sure which one I prefer, it seems the same to me apart from the blatant difference of portability. If I do get a laptop, most likely I will be getting a docking station for it and an external monitor/keyboard/mouse, so is there any point?
I have 2 laptops that neeed repairing, and I don't no how to go about it, or if its even worth bothering with.
1 of them is a mess, cracked screen, screens come of the hinges, power supply slot is dodgy, sound card has stopped working, the whole laptops a general mess.
The other one is the one I am using now, its not to bad, could do with a bit of cleaning, and for some reason, the laptop only lasts about ten minutes when its not on charge.
what do you think, does it sound like its worth getting any of them repaired, if so, how should I go about this?
I wish I had the money to run a mac system
I have some but very little experience with Linux and open source, if I was going to use a Linux distribution, it would have to be one that is easy to use with a GUI. I would like to use the googles distribution however the last time I tried to use it, I had problems because it wouldn't support my wireless card.
Referring to the above mentioned laptops, with the laptop that is a total reck, came with windows XP, I cant find the disk for it any more, and for my current laptop, it came with windows 7. I had major problems with this laptop and have had to re install Vista on it, and windows 7 did not come on a disk with this laptop, just pre installed, and no I cant do a factory reset....long story.
Do you think there's any way of retaining these copies of windows, if not, what do you think the cheapest (legal) way is to get a small business edition of windows.
so what operating system do you think I should use? and why.
I will be using my computer for a lot of different things, but the main purpose is to make money online, and start an internet business.
I really really hope someone can help even a little bit because I'm kind of stuck, and I need to move fast.
