The capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, is a city that is clean, neat and rich in cultural heritage. It is flanked by the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats. Till recently it was known as Trivandrum, a name used by the British. It derives its name from the deity at the Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswami temple situated in the city.
