I'm not quite sure that mt4 is the best trading platform. Who says that simplicity is good? mt hasn't many tools which are very essential for traders (or you must buy additional scripts in it while other platforms have such tools on default. Let me give you couple of examples: spreads are not visible (real brokers have dynamic spreads that's why it is necessary for every trader to see the size of the spread), there's no visual advisor in it. And this list can be continued with many other points. For ex, ctrader, ninja trader, protrader etc. These platforms have enermous instruments for traders in order to make their trading more easy and efficient.
Quite true, mt actually is not for real forex trader but for newbie in forex especially its horrible backoffice software which only benefit the broker who paid the soft company, as experienced forex trader seldom or never use metatrader but more sophisticated platform which could deals directly with bank or among traders themselves. Ninja might be good but its price inhibit its popularity. protrader is the ex PT multistation. The only advantage of MT is its easyness to implement EA and indicator, other platform is not so easy and not opensource like MT.
