Hello Folks,
Well, its now March and TriDeci has officially launched.
Unfortunately it a was a very disappointing day or two leading up to our launch, with some further issues with our upstream service providers.
Said providers suffered an unexpected issue on their equipment which knocked out their network for about half an hour and when service was restored, not all segments returned, including the one which we were on. 2 hours later it was still not up, so we had to make a decision.
We felt had no choice but to implement an emergency plan, which included an alternative and separate members access site, and to move our public site away from their network, in hindsight the right thing to do as some 12 hours later our segment was still not routing to us.
I am really disappointed we have had to go through this again. Our providers were rated as one of the top 2 in the industry depending on who you talk to. We really should not have been affected in such a manner.
We have now switched to the other of the top 2 rated providers, BlockDos.net.
Some of you may know who they are, they provide the Anti-DDOS for people like SolidTrustPay and others in our industry such as ProfitClicking/JBP, as well as many other well known brand name companies and websites.
We sincerely trust that this will be the last time we have to switch an upstream provider. The disruption it causes is impossible to avoid as it requires a major change to the DNS entries and while for some the change is instant, for other it can take up to 2 days to effect.
This affects everything. Access to the website, emails not being received by you or by us, or marked as spam because the ip addresses are no longer recognised, processor payments not confirmed and so on.
But, heres the good bit. Everything is now working. Access is good. Mails are being received and are going through and we have had no issues for a few hours. We feel confident that service is stable and can get a group mail out to all of you.
We have also ironed out all major bugs in the script and have a very small number of mostly display issues to resolve.
Also, we are nearly 3 weeks old. Almost 4000 members and growing every day and growth is increasing rather than trailing off. Due in no small part again to our fabulous support team. Thanks to Marc and friends. Dont forget to attend the trainings, links are on the Support page in the back-office.
We have some great features coming up that will put yours and our growth into overdrive, so please dont even think about giving up just yet. The hard work has already been done, and the forecast is for smooth sailing from here on.
Take care, and the best of success.
Sean
