So I've been trying to create a few products for the internet, things that might add value for people and I decided to clone followgen after the owner claimed he was making buckets of money. I know that favoriting on Twitter might be a little old and they've clamped down on how many favorites you can do in a day, so these factors probably make it a bad idea to clone.
Anyway, it's been running about a month and I haven't had a single paying customer. I've only put about $150 into advertising, and because I'm a developer the rest of the expense has really just been my time. The whole reason I cloned followgen was because the UI/IA was terrrible but it seemed to be working, so I thought it would be a lucrative market.
So I'm a little dried up on ideas of how to promote the site in it's current incarnation, or even if it's a good idea - you can tell me if it's a S*** idea, I won't be offended. Anyway, I'm thinking of pivoting it, maybe a social tracking/ranking/analytics site.
I was thinking about doing this whitelabel, it would be easy to do if anyone was interested and I'd even throw in some custom development if the right person could prove they can get the traffic.
Thoughts, suggestions, criticisms are welcome
