There's several ways to gain followers.
Adding your twitter account to your personal information on Forums for instance. You could whenever you write new posts on Facebook end your post with something like: "Regards, yournickname, @yourtwitteraccounturl" etc.
Just doing those 2 things won't make your twitter account go viral, but if you keep doing things like that, it will help you in the long run. Other ways of doing things, is to use Social Exchange sites. (Socialclerks.com, addmefast.com etc.) but I'd prefer spending a couple of bucks and purchase them instead, especially with a new account since others are more likely to follow you when you've already got followers. SEOClerks is the place I'd go to for twitter followers. You can get about 1-2K followers for as low as $1, which is the best prices I've come around.
