Asian equity markets were trading higher following positive cues from US equities. At 8:00 hours IST, China's Shanghai Composite was up 10.82 points or 0.54 percent to 2,016.01 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 179.03 points or 0.79 percent to 22,883.53.
Japan's Nikkei 225 Average climbed 86.04 points or 0.61 percent to 14,092.48 and Singapore's Straits Times was up 4.30 points to 3,266.73.
