1. Help visitors stay oriented Make sure that every page on your site includes links that take return to your home page, the previous page or to another page. If visitors get sidetracked while browsing your site, you want them to quickly be able to return to something familiar or move forward to something that will bring them value. The HTML frames feature is perfect for this because you can reserve a portion of the screen for a menu of links to your content.
2. Make it User-centered The number one factor in a successful Web site is to focus on the needs of others. Create a site that is sure to be on your most desired visitors' Bookmarks by giving weighted substance back to them. And, make sure that your most valuable information has the most direct access with the fewest graphics.
3. Preview regularly scheduled updates The movie theaters do it. Television stations do it. Even magazines do it. Try to include on your site a preview listing of upcoming topics and planned changes. You never know when a visitor might find nothing at your site today, but see something in the preview that will bring him or her back next week.
4. Crosslink with other sites Get your link on as many other pages as possible by linking your site with related sites. Links to other sites make your site more valuable because your visitors will know that you are a source for fresh, valuable, related sites from all over the Web.
5. Submit it to indexers and directories Contact every Web indexer and make sure they've got your URL. And, if you want your site to receive maximum exposure, use the title and the first 100 words for keywords and a description that will be picked up by Web search engines. Don't waste your valuable title space on something generic like, "Welcome to my Home Page," be specific.
6. Test it personally Test your site personally to see how it looks and feels to your clients and visitors. Check it out using different settings (toolbars and directory buttons on and off); try it at different hours; use different modems (try slow and fast); different browsers (Netscape for Windows, Microsoft Explorer and Macintosh, for example); and different screen resolutions. Your site may look very different on an older, slower PC compared to a new top-of-the-line one. Periodically, try clicking on the links you have on your Web site to make sure that they all still connect to working sites.
7. Include multiple contact links What a waste of your time and resources if a visitor decides to contact you directly and can't locate the necessary information. People want direct, personal contact and cyberspace hasn't changed that. In fact, a personal touch on your site may heighten people's interest. Your site should contain frequent and obvious links that point visitors to business contact information within your organization--email, fax, snail mail address and phone numbers, if appropriate. If yours is a family Web site, however, personal information is not recommended, except for your email address.
8. Go easy on the graphics Thousands of Web sites truly are works of art by master graphic artists. But during peak business hours, bandwidth limitations might make it impossible for some people to access your site. Millions of home-based business owners use telephone modems and may rely upon your site to keep them in touch with their industry. At a minimum, use interlaced graphics and offer a "text-only" hyperlink at the top of the document so visitors quickly can select a faster option if they are not willing to wait.

1) First of all, depending on the subject of the site, men who are doing it must be PROFESSIONALS in that area - will it be Entertainment Portal, Music, Online Shop, HYIP or other - it must be run by a professional who understands what he is doing and WHY IS HE DOING IT. High dedication, fast answers to your visitors' queries will make your site positive reputation quickly.
2) Use services of professional designers. Design makes from 25 to 70 of success, because it is the first thing people see when coming on the site.
3) Do not try to save your money on hosting provider services. You can't pay 1$ monthly for hosting and expect 100% uptime of your site If your site is not online it is useless - everyone should remember that.
4) Advertising is very important. If no one knows your site is online, you could be the only visitor on your site. Try to force some famous blog to write an article about you. Except for banners, forum promotion, PTR ads and other stuff it is also a nice idea of involving your visitors in advertising process, making them "sell" your website along with you.
5) One of the main things after starting is geting positive traffic rankings (f.e. Alexa). Thousands of solutions here - f.e. make a 10$-PTC advertisement on Donkeymails to get over 5000 unique visits per day.

Step1: We should set our criteria why we need to build our website, the theme behind creation of web site. Step2: Website should be loaded quick because some time visitor does not like to wait, thats why we have to use suitable graphics header or logo. Step3: We should decide website name easy to remember, no (-) should be use in URL. Step4: We should create a list of keywords of its relevant contents, because keywords help us to be listed on the top of Search Engine, as we know search engine uses spider software so by the help of keywords site can be index easily, or we can also submit our website to popular search engines, because they send traffic to websites. Step5: We should host our website on dedicated web server which offers 24/7 helpline service. Step6: Also think about bandwidth we need for our website, so we can safe our visitors from inconvinence, i mean our website should run continuously without any bandwidth problem. Step7: Web Site should be update at least each month or week. Step8: we should advertise our website on wel known/popular websites or advertising networks such as AdWords.
Its my own thinking, there is not cheating or copy/pasting. i hope at least all member will like my steps.

1. The Advertisement- The Advertisement is the first thing you need to do after your website is setuped. It is one of the main Ingredients of a website.
2. The Speed- Host your website in a Fast and Reliable Hoster, If you have the Advertisements then a Fast server won't be a problem. Some people dont like slow websites(that includes me) and in Online Bussiness Time is GOLD, people don't want to waste their time for waiting your website to load.
3. Test it - I've seen in some websites posted a link by mistake that is only for administrators/webmasters control panel, They can steal all your Information and money then turn down your website!
4. Name- Make the name simple, I prefer to use only 1-2 words on the websites name. Some people don't want to type long websites name, Dont get over 16 characters and keep it letters and numbers only.
5. Graphics- Have a good Layouts,Banner,Font you can hire someone to do that. Some websites have a bad graphics because they mix colors bad, And that really hurt the eyes.
6. Suggestions- Ask your members for suggestions.
7. Advertise- Advertise your site. there's free advertise your site programs or you can pay too.

How to build a successful website... a quick examination by the JaceMan
There are hundreds of techniques to employ when trying to build a successful web site. The first thing that you must do before starting any campaign for any site, regardless of genre, is to start by defining what success means. Running a successful web site is much like running a business; heck, often times they are one in the same. That being said, no intelligent person goes into business without a business plan.
For the sake of argument, lets say we are going to be building a web site for an ebook affiliate program. The following would be the suggestions I would make to someone to ensure that their venture was a profitable one.
1. Start by formalizing a plan. As I mentioned in my prelude, this step should always be the starting ground no matter what type of site you are after. In this case, we would want to start by deciding on the market, or niche, that we wished to capitalize on. We would then want to set goals, both long term and short term. Third we would want to specify how we are going to achieve our goals. Finally, we would put it all into action.
2. Scout the competition. Before building our site we would be foolish not to take a look at how stiff our competition is. We'd want to know how much competition we are up against, and what each is doing right and doing wrong. A great way to begin your research is to pretend to be a customer shopping for the type of information you are going to be marketing. Search Google and/or Yahoo! for your chosen product by topic and look through several sites to gain an idea as to how others are selling the product.
3. Shrink the competition. Now that we know what we're up against we should seek to eliminate a whole bunch of the people we're up against. What I mean by this, is we should seek to optimize our site around some very dedicated and targeted traffic. For example, let us say we are going to be selling an ebook designed to help baseball players. If we were doing this the biggest mistake most internet marketers would make would be trying to optimize their site based on the keyword, "baseball." This is probably a bad idea because there is simply too much competition for this word and furthermore, most people who type "baseball" into a search engine probably aren't looking to buy anything.
We need to slim down our market. For example, if you were to Google search the term baseball you would see that there are over 130 MILLION sites to go through. Good luck making it to the top of that list! Now if you search for the term how to throw a curveball you will see that we are down to around 360,000 sites and if we search for "how to throw a curveball" in quotes we're now down to an amazing 820 sites. Now we're getting somewhere!
4. Build an email list using an autoresponder. Email lists are imperative for numerous reasons. The two most important are:
First, most people will not buy anything from you the first time they visit your page, few will on their second trip either. It's going to take most people several times before they invest in you. What this means is that the hard work of getting someone to visit your page is simply a very meager step 1. We still have a long way to go.
Second, it is easier to sell a 2nd product to a person who has already done business with you before than it is to sell that original product to another new customer. We must capitalize on relationship building!
Autoresponders help us with both of these scenarios and they do so without occupying all of our time. The catch is getting people to opt-in to your list. My recommendation, offer them something free for signing up!
5. Get links to your site. There are a lot of ways to accomplish this, and no matter which option you choose you should make sure of one thing. And that is: DO choose an option. Basically what I mean is do not leave this step out. There are few things as important to your site as having people link to it as it accomplishes several things:
A. it generates traffic B. it opens you up to wider audiences C. when combining with step 3 and having your partners link to your site using your optimized keywords you simultaneously boost your page rank and further optimize your site D. it helps you to build brand recognition
6. Write articles. The last thing we'll want to do, and we'll want to be doing this before, during, and after collecting our links in step 5, is to take advantage of what is known as "bum marketing." Bum marketing is another way of saying "free advertising." Essentially, you go to where the people already are and make yourself known. The concept is simple... why build your own audience when someone else already has one?
In any event, one of the best methods of bum marketing is article writing. It allows for you to not only get your product in front of people who would not otherwise have found it, but also allows for further "off page" optimization. Yes, by linking to your product page from your article using your keyword or keywords as anchor text you have helped your site, yet again, to achieve a higher page rank and better search engine optimization all without ever actually touching the content on your own page. It has to be used to learn just how effective it really is.
In conclusion, there are many, many other techniques you will want to employ to build a successful web site, but by merely adopting these simple six you're going to be smiling much bigger today than you were yesterday. THAT, I CAN PROMISE YOU!
