Hello again. . I�m back, and this time I�m posting about the website, Squidoo. Most of you have already heard of it, but this is nice to read (AND SUBSCRIBE VIA RSS!! Lol.)
Squidoo is a Web 2.0 site, which means that it�s a website with members who post whatever they want on their �lenses,� as they call them, and invite other Squidoo members to view their lenses and vote on them. There are top lenses, favorite lenses, most viewed lenses, etc.
This may not sound like a great source for generating traffic to your website or blog, but it is! Why? Because Squidoo is really, really, really good at getting the lenses ranked high in search engines! (And it�s free, too, so it�s worth a shot.) And, that means that after you build a �lens� on Squidoo, you can let it do all of the SEO work for you.
You can also include promo information about you and your products on your Squidoo Lens, along with some precious information for visitors. Then, just wait for the targeted visitors to find their way to the sales page!
Squidoo is free to join and you can create as many pages or lenses as you like. It�s not even much extra work; you can reuse content you already have in the way of blog posts, articles or excerpts from your information product.
Using content that you already have at your disposal can result in a steady stream of targeted visitors that already like what they�ve seen on your lens, making them predisposed to purchase your information product. Great Idea! (Wow� I think I�m going to create a Squidoo lens to promote my blog!!!)

To target the long tail, first you research your niche market and make a list of 3-5 word key phrases that your target market is using to search the web. (Overtures free tool, www.inventory.overture.com) Once you have that list of phrases you can start constructing lenses on Squidoo that are subject around those phrases.
Squidoo works with you to optimize your lens for the key phrase you have chosen to target and soon you will have a presence in the search engine results for your targeted key phrase.
While in the state of building your lenses, you could link them together so that visitors to one of your Squidoo lenses can look at the network of niche specific content that you�re offering. Which results in the obvious: The longer you keep them on your lenses, the higher chance they have to visit your sales page.
Squidoo also allows you to include products from lots of different online merchants. For example, Amazon, eBay, etc. If you know that you have relevant videos from YouTube, (Which you probably do,) you can embed them on your lens. And, surfers love Video! (100 Billion Videos were uploaded in 2007 I believe. WOW!...)
Income from your lenses is gained to you using a formula that Squidoo uses to share it between them and you. Some internet marketers are skeptical about this because they feel that Squidoo is ripping them off; my opinion on this? Well, if I can get targeted, pre qualified traffic that is inclined to buying my product and Squidoo is going to pay me while I get them? I�ll take a part of that!
Squidoo is a helpful addition to my traffic generation strategy. It cost me nothing to set up the lenses, I update them with content I�m also using on my blogs or newsletter, and I only spend about an hour a month on them. It can�t get any better than that!
If you�re not persuaded that you should Squidoo by now, it�ll only take an hour or two or your time to set up a couple of lenses using content you already have. Isn�t it worth a go?
