What you said do make a point but if you think of it, with the current economic crisis, would people be looking at renting too? That is one point to consider too. There is not point in getting a property and no one is interested in renting it at the moment.

Hey, I definitly agree with both of you, but like I said I'm not planning on purchasing like right now. It will be a few years and of course the economy will be a factor. What I am trying to ask and I guess I may not have explained this properly, but is what type of rental property would be the best for someone looking to own there first rental property. I know single family homes are not worth the time or effort, but I am trying to figure out if a duplex, 3 floor apartment house, or large multi apartment compex is the best with keeping in mind I will be living in one of the apartments myself. If you have any more questions or this isn't clear please ask, so I can try and explain myself more clearly.
