If it seems too good too be true, it likely is!
If you're dealing with someone for the first time, don't be afraid to ask and check references. But remember, references are easy to fake. Always ask for a phone number and if you're uneasy about a transaction, give them a call. It's a lot easier to scam someone through e-mail than over the phone.

Save all e-mail messages and PM box history. If a future problem arises, these e-mail messages may prove invaluable in proving the conditions of the transaction.
It's not a good idea to post personal information, such as your address or phone number, or the other party's personal information, on the Internet. Although there are a lot of great people online, there are also people who would use the information maliciously.
