Tips and Tricks to Better Time Management

Organising your time can be a bit tricky, if you have never been the sort to use your time wisely. It may surprise you to know that there are several ways you can start slowly to begin setting up your time for a more effective time management.

To successfully incorporate your time management skills here are a few tips.

Before setting up your strategies for your daily routine there are just a few things you need to understand.

You need to know where you are heading another words what are your goals? once you know your goals you will be able to choose the correct tasks for that day. This will also aid you to get motiviated and to focus on what is important to you.

You will also need to be flexible in your routine,because during your day you will still need to set some time aside to do things you need to complete, example:- if you have other commitments "children"-"work" you must be flexible to be there for them.

Here's a few tips and tricks to organise and manage your time.

First examine how you use your time now, think of ways to change this, if you have developed bad habits then you will need to put in a little more effort to change them, however it is possible to change your habits and reorganise your daily routine,and you will soon see better results which will be a benefit to you and your family.

Make a list of your goals, keep them handy, in your pocket, on your fidge, read them regularly you may lose focus and by using reminders these will help you to get back on track to follow your daily routine.

Grab yourself a pen and paper and make a list of the most important tasks you need to do daily, making a list is a good way of completing your tasks, as you complete a task check it off the more checks you see the more happier you will feel with yourself which will motivate you to complete the tasks giving you a sense of satisfaction from your accomplisments.

Making a daily list will not only help you to become a more responsible person, but as you will learn that once you are organised you will find life will be come much easier, effectively you will become more satisfied and content with your achievements.

It is important that you concentrate on one task at a time, trying to complete more than one at the same time will just bring you down, so the first task you should tackle is the one that is the most important to be completed that day.

If you stay focused and concentrate on one task at a time, you will find the task is completed quicker giving you more time for other things.

While you are completing these tasks you need to ensure that you have fun doing them, if you can make it fun you will cause yourself less stress and you will complete the task quicker.

Finally by simply organsing your time wisely and writing your tasks down you will have a more clearer picture on how you will spend your day, by doing this you will learn to be more Focused, Motivated, you will feel a sense of Achievement with your Accomplisments, and eventually knowing that the time management you have created will in the long run give you more free time to spend with your family or on your favorite hobby.

Need Advice on financing a distant commercial property (2000 miles away):

I am interested in obtaining funds to purchase an almost NNN commercial property which is 90% occupied with leases expiring from 2008 to 2010. The CAP rate is 9.0%. This would be my first commercial investment. I am ready to put 20% down from my personal funds.

I would like to know which state I should establish the LLC as the property I have located is 2000 miles away from my residence and how to approach the financial institutions from that town/state to review my application favourably. My personal credit history is excellent however LLC has no history yet.

Any advice is most welcome.

I know a lot of you may have seen Whoopi Goldberg�s movies, but do you know what she went through before becoming a famous actress, show host, author etc etc?
Let this story reveal the journey of a survivor. A real survivor that stands true to the test of life.
No Limitations Please

As a young girl, Whoopi Goldberg knew no limitations. All thanks to her mother.
Born as Caryn Elaine Johnson on November 13, 1949, Whoopi Goldberg lived in a Manhattan housing project with her mother and younger brother Clyde. Her father left when she was very young and her mother became a nurse in order to support the family. Even though the family was poor, her mother would constantly remind them of the fact that they�re not limited by their financial conditions or colour and would try to give the best to the children.
She would bring the kids to watch New York cultural performances by famous artistes such as James Earl Jones, Leonard Bernstein and send them to acting lessons at the Hudson Guild, a community program for inner city kids. It was that early introduction to the arts and drama that initiated Whoopi�s passion for the stage.
Whoopi also loved old movies. Back then, she would rush home after school everyday and forgo sleep to watch movies by famous old Hollywood movie stars. To her, movies was an avenue to stay in touch with the outside world, reassuring her of the fact that she could venture out and be whatever she wanted to be. It also kept her in a black and white illusion that a world without any race truly existed. She continued to live in that illusion until very much later when she realized that all the black actors were casted in less important roles.
Overcoming Life�s Struggles

In school, Whoopi felt like an outcast. She was constantly being made fun of by her classmates because of her strong features, and her shyness and love for musicals over Motown made it difficult to assimilate into the community. Coupled by the fact that she was suspected of being mentally retarded due to her undiagnosed dyslexic condition, she finally decided to quit school after a few weeks into her first year of high school.
Whoopi led a bohemian lifestyle after which, abandoning home and sleeping on the streets. She abused drugs and engaged in promiscuous activities, getting pregnant and an self inflicted abortion (using a coat hanger) for the first time at the age of 13. 4 more abortions ensued until one day, after seeing so many of her friends and famous personalities dying from consuming too much drugs, she finally decided enough was enough and enrolled herself on a rehabilitation program in a Manhattan clinic.
After she was declared drug free, Whoopi married one of her drug counselors Alvin Martin, at the age of 18 and got pregnant again very soon after. Her marriage was constantly on turmoil as they would get into fights and arguments over her acting ambitions, dressing and their financial troubles. It was only when a friend offered Whoopi and her baby a ride to California that ended the 2 year old marriage.
In San Diego, to support her and her child, Whoopi brought her daughter along to jobs such as a bricklayer as well as a mortuary makeup artist while on a scholarship to a beauty school. But the jobs were temporary and paid little, and for the next few years, she was on and off welfare.
Her True Love

During this time, Whoopi never gave up auditioning. Her persistence finally paid off when she discovered a group of like minded actors at the San Diego Repertory Theatre, where she was given an opportunity to hone her dramatic skills and learn how to be a comedian.
She partnered with another guy doing late night stand up comedy acts at clubs, improvising the act inspired by Mike Nichols and Elaine May, a popular comedian pair during the 60s. Her first successful solo performance came in when she was forced to go up stage alone after her partner backed out at the last minute during an invitation to San Francisco.
A theatre company in Berkeley loved Whoopi�s performance so much so that they urged her to modify it into a one-woman show, helping her to re brand it into the Whoopi Goldberg Show or the Spook Show. In her performances, Whoopi revealed to the audience, the young girl who wished she was white and blond so that she could be a movie star, the 13 year old delinquent who used a coat hanger to conduct an abortion on herself, a school dropout interested in the arts and drama, but lived a bohemian lifestyle and a dyslexic woman who got married partly out of fear that she would be left on the shelf.
As Whoopi traveled around on performances, media publicity on her widely acclaimed shows increased. In 1984, a performance in New York led to a resounding review in the New York Times and brought in an attractive offer from the Mike Nichols director of the Graduate. He wanted to work with Whoopi to showcase her show anywhere she desired and indeed, soon after, Whoopi found herself on Broadway.
That also catapulted her to fame on the big screen. Whoopi�s leading role in �The Colour Purple� (a Steven Spielberg�s production) and supporting role in �Ghost� won her an Oscar nomination and Academy Award respectively and her academy award win also made her the 2nd African American actress ever to do so. Since 1985, she has also appeared in 80 film and television productions and has been a show host, author (of children�s books), a sitcom actress, stand up comedian etc.
As Whoopi reflected her past, she was glad that she made the choice to be different. Even though she experienced more difficulties than if she were to take the common route, it turned out to be a much more enriching journey than what she would have gone through, adding a unique flavour to her performances, letting her stand out amongst the crowd.
What Did I Learn From This Story?

That one can be down and out at the moment but he can still turn it around to achieve the dreams of his lifetime, as long as he consciously decide to do so and pursue it with tenacity and perseverance.
(1) Down & Out Now? You Can Change Your Destiny

Whoopi Goldberg�s story is a reminder to anyone that they�ve the power to change their destiny. If you�re facing hardships, struggles or challenges now, do not feel despondent. Continue to believe in yourself, your dreams and you�ll be able to achieve wonders in your life. That you too can create your own inspirational stories!
Now, if you think what I�ve said above is very cliche, to tell you the truth, I agree. But why do people keep saying this over and over again, knowing that it has been overly mentioned? Because it truly works! Whoopi�s teachers think she�s mentally retarded but she turned out to be one of the most gifted comedians in the Hollywood. She led a wanton life initially but she proved it beyond doubt that if one�s willing to change, he can still be the brightest star he ever set himself to be. If Whoopi can do it, so can you!
At the end of the day, it doesn�t matter what your current results are. What counts is where you see yourself to be in the future and your relentless efforts in working towards it.
(2) Don�t Follow The Crowd For the Sake of It

I must admit I was guilty of this when I first started out in my professional career. At that time, all I wanted to do is to put what I�ve learned in college into practice and be an auditor or accountant like anyone else in my faculty. So, I joined a local audit firm. It didn�t take long before I started to discover an interest in IT business consultancy and as I�m more inclined in pursuing my own financial freedom, thoughts of striking out on my own, surfaced.
Now, don�t get me wrong. I�m not trying to advocate against being an accountant. It�s a great profession for anyone who consciously believes he can add value in this domain. Nor am I trying to imply one should emulate Whoopi Goldberg�s bohemian lifestyle.
What I�m trying to raise is, you should follow your true calling and don�t stick to doing something because everyone�s doing so, but rather because you decide to do it. Like Whoopi Goldberg! It�s easy to fall into the trap of conforming for the sake of societal acceptance. However, if you�re not pursuing what your heart truly desires, even if you�re earning a lot of money or getting a lot of fame in that field, you�ll not be truly happy. Because at the end of the pursuit, you�ll find that it�s not your goal that you�ve accomplished. It�s someone else�s.

Guide to Listing on DMOZ

What is DMOZ?

Dmoz is a human edited directory that has been running since 1998. It was created as a cooperative environment that would allow volunteer editors to keep up with the internet explosion. Way back, Yahoo used to be a directory - not a search engine - and Dmoz was an (eventually bigger) alternative to this. The only difference of course is that we are now well into the Google era of information at your fingertips. Dmoz on the other hand, is pretty much where it started.

Dmoz's full title is the Open Directory Project. Dmoz is an acronym for Directory Mozilla. The acronym reflects loose association with ex-owner's Netscape's Mozilla project, an Open Source browser initiative. Originally called 'Gnuhoo' by founder Rich Skrenta, it was renamed the Open Directory Project in October 1998 when it was bought by Netscape. It was then acquired by AOL shortly thereafter, and Dmoz was one of the assets included in the acquisition.

Unlike a search engine, for websites to be l�sted in the Dmoz directory, they have to be submitted first. They are then reviewed by individuals (known as Editors) who are assigned to various categories within the Dmoz directory.

Is a DMOZ Link Worth It?

It's fair to say that Dmoz isn't what it used to be. You may notice whenever you search for something online these days that a Wikipedia entry is often on the first page. This used to be the case for Dmoz, meaning it was a good referrer of traffic to websites. The key words there are that it 'used to be'. Dmoz's category pages do not rank well at all anymore, so traffic referral is next to nothing.

It's not all bad though, Google has its own directory which is in fact just a re-branded version of Dmoz. This shows us that it is still recognized as an authoritative website and that is demonstrated by the high Page Rank of some of its pages. In fact many websites use Dmoz's data which means if you get in Dmoz, you may inherit far more backlinks than you expected.

One of the reasons why it is still considered authoritative is that you can't pay to get in as with many other directories. Providing a reciprocal link isn't an option either, so the theory is that Dmoz is more or less incorruptible. The fact is though, with many thousands of websites being submitted every week, there are simply too many for the Editors to handle. This means websites aren't reviewed often and so Dmoz's content is out of date, especially compared to modern search engines.

So, perhaps Dmoz is not the be-all-and-end-all it once was, but lets not get too negative. It takes minutes to submit, so there is no harm in trying!

How to Submit to DMOZ

Before you submit your website, make sure you give it a thorough health check. Have you checked it for broken links, bad spelling and missing graphics? These are all things your website can be rejected for so don't shoot yourself in the foot!

In order to submit, you must visit the category you wish to submit to and click on 'Suggest Url.' It's important to follow the guidelines, if you miss one element you will be rejected. For the full steps to submitting, visit:

Ensure you don't spam your submission with keywords or be 'creative' with the title. You may get away with this in other directories, but not with Dmoz. If you're reading this article, you should already be aware of the basics of Search Engine Optimization, so the description you give Dmoz should be related to your website as well as the keywords for which you want to rank.

For help in writing the best entry, the easiest thing to do is to simply take a look at entries already within the category you are aiming for. If they're in, they've obviously done something right! This is also a good time to ensure the category is the right one for your website. Take a look at the websites within the category and make sure they are similar to yours. If not, it's best to find a more suitable category.

Dmoz is well known as an authoritative directory website. Needless to say then, it is very popular and thousands of websites have been submitted. Despite having a large number of editors, the fact that each entry is reviewed by humans means the process is longer and the backlog builds up. Considering Dmoz has been running since 1999, that backlog has grown year on year. With this in mind, waiting a year for entry is not unreasonable.

After submitting your website to Dmoz it is worthwhile looking at your web analytics program and searching for the telltale sign of your website being reviewed. The address to check in your logs for is 'editors.dmoz.org'.

Is There Any Way of Speeding the Process Up?

Not really. The biggest mistake to make is to get impatient and presume you've been forgotten about, and then re-submitting. You could easily be rejected for this. Likewise, even though deep links and multiple categories are not banned from Dmoz, it's probably best to avoid the potential downfall of doing this.
However, there is one way to get into Dmoz quickly (relatively speaking). Naturally, people are drawn by the high Page Rank of a main category. Thing is, these are the sort of categories that take literally years to get into. It can be as little as a few weeks to get into a lesser Page Ranked sub-category. It's very simple, fewer people submit their website so the backlog of submissions is much shorter.

As an example of this, our last submitted reviewed website by Dmoz was first submitted 4 months beforehand.

I Think DMOZ Rejected My Website, Why?

In many instances, websites aren't really rejected, they're just taking a while to be reviewed. Some of the busier categories will mean you have to wait months before having your website reviewed. This is why it is important that when submitting to Dmoz, you take care in writing the best entry for getting in, not the best entry for your search engine optimization campaign!

Another common occurrence is that your website may be in a different category to what you actually submitted to. It's not uncommon to see a website moved to a more local category, if you have a .co.uk. domain for example. Make sure you use the Dmoz search tool before presuming you didn't get in.

If you are sure you have been rejected and it isn't down to a) a bad description or your website being littered with broken links, then you can contact the editor of the category. Simply visit the category you submitted to and scroll to the bottom to the editors' names. Sometimes you will see a 'volunteer to be an editor' link, in which case you need to go up a level to see the editor for the parent category instead.

When you click on an editor's name, you will have an option to email them. You can also see their activity on Dmoz under their 'Bookmarks.' This will help you find the best editor to contact (if there is more than one). It goes without saying when contacting them, be polite and professional!

There are myths and exaggerated stories about 'corrupt' editors who only accept websites after receiving a fee, but a minority of editors may be managing categories that are related to their professional background. Unfortunately, that may mean some direct competitors of theirs might get rejected, no matter what the rules are.

I have a question I realy need everyones input on. I was given a homemade puzzle when I was a boy by my uncle, after days of trying to figure it out I came to the conclusion he gave it to me to get me out of his hair. How i have been scamed 250LR by Basebucks!!!

I paid 250lr for a life time 728 banner fixed on all pages NOT DELIVERED and credited their acount at Xcelsus with 2500, listing, and a "review" of my program, a review that if you can call it that just acuses Xcelsus of beign a scam and of robbing members money, (with out any proof) a review that looks more like low bashing, who ever wrote it didnt even got my plans right talks about things i asked them before hand if they knew how my program pays and when were they going to be paid, and also lies about things, so what i dont understand is if after knowing about my program they kept insisting on listing it, all i can think of is that they had their little plan to scam, they knew before hand, and also now im beign asked 50 more lr to post my banner and change the review, what i think is that reps and admin of this site are all poor, and poor scamers, not worthed to list in this site and a cheap ponzi. that for paying 1 or 2 cents makes their members do task and post in order to get paid. the cicler they run as it self is an example of a ponzi think about it.

This is a warning if you plan on have basebucks monitor and review your site, also if you plan to invest further in that place it might scam very soon, since other inside information i gathered is that they changed the looks of the site because investments where getting low, after some measures from the admin of making members work in his to do page and forcefull postings in order to get paid (what a big joke) also how they fake their alexa rank with a software that uses proxy lists to trick their server to think is getting hits, then robots gather this info, and buala climbing in rank, i have put some parts of the comunications by YM with them, if you are interested in having them complete i can send them to you im also posting my answer to their so called review since the keep deleting it from their site.

Im not angry, other places have review my program, and it is growing, i might have low roi, long plans but what i certainly dont have is any intention of scaming, roi comes from real life investing and is high already, for a real opp., of course if you are acostumed to see 170% return in no time yes you will find my roi low, but as i stated in the program Xcelsus is not a HYIP ponzi, or game, is a real oportunity, and you can take advantage of that by using it to diversify.

Also i want to know your opinion:

Since basebucks didnt deliver what they supposed to, since there has been no answer from them or willingnes to fix up things, what should i do?:

To start with when you sign up you have 3 steps and they give you $50 (payout is at $100) now apart from step one they others will cost you nothing. We generally think about what we will do in a time when everything goes wrong. We expect times like that and try to stay prepared to �get through� them as gracefully as we can.

Why not talk about when everything goes right?

There are days (even weeks) like that, you know.

I often wonder if it is simply our focus that makes us believe things are going right or wrong. For example, this has been almost a perfect morning. It is a beautiful day in Scottsdale, I had a great night�s sleep, a good start to the day, the cat is purring next to me as I write, and most of my early morning work is finished. I lost a pound (now a total of 82 pounds lost), and the phone, so far, has been quiet. Now that�s a great beginning. I had to think for a moment if anything negative happened. Well, for starters it was cold in this house this morning and when I went on line for a temperature check I read that it is 49 degrees. It was uncomfortable enough that I got dressed instead of sitting at the computer in my nightgown. If I wanted to get with the negative program, I could list the things that concern me and take my day on a rapid decline into negativity.

I choose not to do that.

It is not what surrounds me, it is not what I own, it is not the weather and it is not circumstances that make me happy or create a perfect day � it is my thoughts, my attitude, my beliefs, my awareness, my responses. Although other people can spew negative all around, it is my choice whether or not I let that rattle my cage and bring me down. Sometimes I have to struggle to keep it from impacting me and sometimes I have let it change my mood before I realize what hit me. Then I have to work to get back up to a happy state of mind. (Being happy and work are not mutually exclusive).

I had a perfect example of this earlier today. I do some work for a blog that helps people who are grieving. We get a lot of mail which I post. This morning there were two letters from women who�s husbands had died within the past year. One was �woe is me, I can�t survive this, I can�t go on, my life is over, nobody understands.� The other woman wrote, �he was wonderful, I miss him terribly, sometimes I wonder how I can manage when I have do do things he always did for me, I know I�ll make it, he would want me to be happy and I will be happy again.� My guess is that they are both right. The first will mourn for the rest of her life and have an endless pity party while the second one will learns to manage,will probably finds love again, and and will have a celebration of life party.

It sounds very Pollyannaish but I�ve never had a problem with Pollyanna. In fact, she�s right on target for the new approach to Psychology � Positive Psychology that looks for the good, the strengths, the positive happenings. Pollyanna played �the glad game� � trying to find what made her glad regardless of what was going on around her. Perhaps we could all give that game a try.

5 Dead, 12 Injured In Us Power Plant Blast

IDDLETOWN, Connecticut: At least five people were killed and 12 injured Sunday in a massive gas explosion that tore apart an unfinished US power plant and rattled windows kilometres away.

However, officials cautioned that they did not know how many people were in the Kleen Energy plant, which was still being constructed, and therefore they could not immediately account for everyone who may have been present.

"We know that 12 individuals have been injured. Five individuals are known to have lost their lives," Sebastian Giuliano, the mayor of Middletown in Connecticut, told a news conference.

Terrorism had been ruled out, according to the mayor, who said the accident happened during a testing procedure.

Rescue workers helped by search dogs scoured the rubble at the plant where a brief, but fierce fire following the accident sent flames and black smoke billowing skyward.

"There was like a fireball going up and a lot of smoke. The explosion was strong enough to break one of our windows. Our neighbors had also their windows destroyed," said Scott Harmann, 44, whose father lives in a house just across the Connecticut River from the plant.

Nearby resident Mike Woronoff said he heard "a loud boom" at his house some 3.2 kilometres from the plant.

"I have friends that live 15 miles from here that called me because they could hear it. Then we could see the smoke. It went on for a mile and a half, then stopped," he said.

Amid confusion over the number of casualties local officials immediately warned of the potential for carnage.

"There was a massive explosion, there are multiple injuries and possible fatalities," Middletown police spokesman George Yepes told AFP soon after the blast.

"The reports vary from a few to possibly as many as 50 dead," Brian Albert from the Middlesex hospital, which was treating several of those injured, said in the immediate aftermath.

Uncertainty as to the final toll seemed set to continue until contractors working on the site were able to compile an accurate roster of those present.

A Middletown fire official said it was "initially thought there was approximately 50 employees" there at the time and that "it's unknown how many people are missing."

Giuliano said "there could be anywhere from 100 to 200 people working on the site on any given day. Exactly what is that number, that is the starting point and that is the number they can't nail down today.

"Fortunately what I was told is that most of the people working there were evacuated from the building when they ran the test," he said.

A local resident told the Hartford Courant newspaper that the explosion took place during a test of the plant's power generating systems.

The 620-megawatt Kleen Energy plant, said to be one of the largest power facilities to be planned in New England for many years, was still under construction.

The future gas-fired energy production plant is located on the outskirts of Middletown, close to residential housing.

A company called Energy Investors Funds recently acquired 80 per cent of the plant, which had been due to go online sometime in 2010.

The American Red Cross said it had set up a phone number for "anyone concerned for the well-being of a relative or a friend that was working at the Kleen Energy plant."

I have been thinking about jumping into this for quite some time now and I wish I had a long time ago, I never knew how much goes into all this,..WOW!! It's a good thing I'm so darn persistant. Although, my head is about to explode with all the different sites and ways to put everything together correctly, but I am getting there I think. This is much alike article writing, apart from.

* You need to write a lot more.
* You will earn a lot more.
* You also need to learn about product marketing.
* You need to know quite a bit about the topic of the eBook.

Apart from that, it’s really the same, you think “eBook”, the format PDF might come to mind, but you can sell eBooks in .DOC format, it’s just a book, which is on the PC.

The first step, is marketing.

* What does the client want?
* Where can you sell this prodouct?
* Is it in demand?

You need to figure out what clients want to buy, then where you can sell it (I sell mine Digital Point forums) and then, is it in demand, can you make multipul sales with one eBook. The main reason eBook writing can earn you a lot of money, you can sell a eBook 100 times, you cant with article writing, otherwise the client doesn’t want to buy content which will be seen els where.

You need to find a eBook topic that people will pay for, for example money-making guides that offer you the chance to make your money back within 24 hours or so are great-hits. The great thing about ebooks is, you can resell them again and again.

I’d suggest you selling them on Forums and websites. Collect the payment before hand and just send them the eBook after you accepted the payment. Simple eh? You can read more about marketing your eBook in another article I have written.

The thing about a eBook is, you want to go to the point, have the most information possible and at least try to explain everything as best as you can, people don’t want to read 100 pages of information, so why bother writing that much if their not even going to read it?

I’d say 10-20 pages on a PDF reader is engouth for a good eBook, any more then that I personally get bored. As I’ve already said, it’s marketing, you need to find a way of contacting people who will want to buy you eBook.

Cooking book? Check out cooking forums/blogs/websites.

That’s really how it goes, but I suggest you keep to a certain topic in your eBooks, so you know where to go to sell your eBooks, if you don’t sell many, prehaps changing the topic/content of the sales-post. Maybe look into other peoples sale pages who are getting a lot of sales and see what the differences are.
