The week was started on very lackluster note & remain very range bound for first three trading session of the week amid positive global cues; yet on Wednesday�s trading session nifty crack down from resistance of 6100 mark as there was lack of confidence at higher levels supported by negative cues that was coming from political front. But at last day of trading week nifty respected 5975 mark & recouped its most of the losses on the back of short covering. At the end nifty closed at 6048 with moderate weekly cut of 0.24%. Trading of CNX Nifty futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates that the Nifty could fall 13 points at the opening bell.PSU OMCs will be in focus as the under-recovery on High Speed Diesel (HSD) applicable for the second fortnight of February 2014, effective from 16 February 2014, rose to Rs 8.31 per litre. This was Rs 7.39 per litre during first fortnight of February 2014. PSU OMCs are currently incurring combined daily under-recovery of approximately Rs 456 crore on the sale of Diesel, PDS Kerosene & Domestic LPG at government controlled prices.Most Asian stocks declined on Tuesday. Key benchmark indices in Hong Kong, South Korea & Taiwan fell by 0.02% to 0.4%. Key benchmark indices in Indonesia, Singapore & Japan rose 0.01% to 0.92%.The Bank of Japan is widely expected to keep its policy unchanged in its monetary policy today.Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen said last week that US growth has strengthened & that only a �notable alter in the outlook� for the economy would prompt policy makers to slow the pace of cuts to the monthly bond-buying program.Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 522.82 crore on Monday, 17 February 2014, as per provisional data from the stock exchanges. Shares of Ranbaxy fell over 2 percent in early trade on Tuesday as it has temporarily suspended shipment of pharmaceutical ingredients produced at its Toansa and Dewas plants. �The company is currently examining processes and controls at all company's Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing and quality units.This action has led to temporarily putting on hold shipments from company's API facilities of the Toansa and Dewas Plants,� it said in a statement to the BSE. The drug major said that it is a voluntary decision as a precautionary measure to better to assess and review the processes and controls.
Maruti Suzuki made an announcement on January 28 regarding its board decision on the Gujarat project, after it received several queries from investors the company provided clarification to the stock exchanges. The Suzuki Motor Corporation's subsidiary in Gujarat would operate on the basis that while it would not make any losses, it would also not accumulate any cash surpluses.
